This year has flown by, hasn’t it? I hope for you it has been a good one. For me, it has been very eventful and interesting.
From a business standpoint, as you know, I switched firms a few months ago. It has been a good move, and I’m looking forward to great things within the next year. RE/MAX is a quality company, and the tools they offer agents to help serve our clients better are incredible. And, of course, the excellent reputation that RE/MAX has is a big bonus, too.
From a sales standpoint, this has been a good year. Aside from the actual sales volume, I’ve had some interesting clients that have been fun to work with. And every transaction is different, from the personalities of the parties involved to the actual transaction itself.
From a professional standpoint, I have had the honor of serving as President of the Durham Regional Association of Realtors® for 2015. This a trade association of 1300 Realtors and associate members that have subscribed to a very strong Code of Ethics, and exists to work for the rights of private property owners. Part of my duties have involved travel (which I love), and my travels have taken me to Washington, DC, Chicago, New Orleans, Hilton Head, The Homestead Resort in Virginia, and many locations in North Carolina. Through these travels, I’ve met many wonderful people locally, state-wide, nationally and even internationally. The vast majority of these folks are people that I probably would have never met otherwise. I’m looking forward to continuing to serve in some capacity on a local and, hopefully, state level in the coming year(s).
From a personal standpoint, well, I don’t really like to comment about that. Suffice it to say that I was able to get in 16 SCUBA dives in Cozumel in September, and I’m hoping for 10 more dives before the year is out. My wonderful daughter has taken a new job, too, and she is also the proud owner of a fun, friendly, and entertaining French Bulldog named “Gunner”. They’re in town for the second time this year, and we’re having a blast!
So what’s ahead for next year? Hopefully, good things for everyone. Good health, good friends and friendships, prosperity, and peace throughout the world. I will mention that this is being written shortly after the terror in Paris, and I truly hope that, in the not-too-distant future, an end will come to the terrorist organizations in one form or another, and we can all get back to living our lives in fellowship and peace.
So here’s to wishing you a happy, healthy, prosperous and peaceful 2016. I hope this will be your best year ever!
